Why I built Prosurfingtools.

I'm Adrian, a surfer and the developer behind Prosurfingtools. What started as a way to fix communication for surfers during competitions ended up growing into a whole platform for coaches.

Building Prosurfingtools since 2020

Hey, I'm Adrian.

I was born in Cádiz, Spain — where I surfed all my life and even competed in local events. However, one thing always frustrated me while competing: being in the water trying to make sense of crackly speakers and signals from the beach. Positions, priority, heat needs — it was chaos.

“What if a surfer's watch could tell them everything they needed to know, right on their wrist?”

In 2020, while living in London and watching a WSL event, the idea came back to me again. How is it possible that the top surfers in the world still use this old system? What if a surfer's watch could tell them everything they needed to know, right on their wrist? I started researching — what data matters in a heat, what wearables existed, and what technologies could make it real.

I studied Web Design and Development at Napier University in Edinburgh, and today I am a Senior Web Developer with years of experience building websites. So I decided to put my spare time to good use and built Prosurfingtools piece by piece alongside my day job.

Today I'm back home in Cádiz, still surfing, still building — and proud to share this platform with coaches and athletes who want to use better tools.

Prosurfingtools is a small project, and ideas from coaches shape what I build next. If you have a question or a suggestion, I'd be glad to hear from you.
