Surf Coaching Software for Every Session

A useful session starts with a clear focus and ends with feedback the surfer can use. Prosurfingtools keeps the objectives, waves, scores and notes together, so you can coach from the beach and return to the same record afterwards.

1. Choose what to work on

Create a training, add your surfers and choose Competition or Technical. Competition training gives you scored heats. Technical training keeps the focus on notes and feedback without a scoreboard. Add objectives such as bottom turns or wave selection, then tag the waves that relate to them.

Objectives you create once and reuse across trainings.

2. Run the session from the beach

Start the clock and register waves from your phone, tablet or laptop. In a Competition training, judges enter scores and the app updates the two-wave totals, positions and score needed to take the lead. Surfers using the connected watch app can follow heat information in the water.

The heat clock and live totals on the coach's screen.

3. Keep feedback with the wave

Add a note or an external video link to the wave you want to discuss. The surfer can return to that wave after the session and read your feedback alongside the score, where scoring is used.

  • Wave feedback — keep a note or video link with the ride it describes.
  • Objectives — tag relevant waves and use the objective filter during review.
  • Heat summary — save a written recap of the heat or technical session.
Score, note (typed or dictated) and an optional video link, saved on the wave.

4. Review the training

Open statistics for the training and select a surfer, heat or session, surfboard, or objective. Review the recorded waves and feedback, with scoring statistics for Competition training. Return to earlier trainings from your training list when you want to discuss previous sessions.

Review by surfer, session and objective, with every note in place.

A session focused on wave selection

Set up a Competition training for three surfers and choose wave selection as an objective. Select the objective for the surfers before registering their waves. Run a timed heat and enter the scores. Afterwards, add a note to a ride that illustrates a good decision. In statistics, select that surfer and objective to bring the relevant waves into the review.

Give the next session a starting point

The notes you save today give you something specific to revisit next time. Open the previous training, find the wave you discussed and decide with the surfer what to work on next.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need extra equipment?

The coaching tools run in a modern browser on a phone, tablet or laptop with an internet connection. A compatible smartwatch is optional for surfers who want live information in the water.

Can I use it for my own training?

Yes. You can add yourself as a surfer in a training. For live scoring while you surf, ask a coach or training partner to record the waves from the beach.

What is the difference between Competition and Technical training?

Competition training uses wave scores, heat positions and priority. Technical training focuses on registered waves, written feedback and video links without competition scoring.

Does the app score waves automatically?

No. The coach or judges enter competition scores. The app calculates the heat totals, positions and needs figure from those scores.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. You can create a free account and use the training tools within the free plan limits. See the pricing page for Pro and organisation options.
